Determination of antimicrobiol activity in solid medium

The
purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Utirose on
antimicrobial activity in solid medium. This method is an
adaptation from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention / US
Department of Health & Human Services / USA.gov.
The diffusion in agar-agar medium is used.
Suspensions are realized with a level of contamination of 10
7 UFC/ml for Escherichia coli and 10
6 UFC/ml for Candida albicans.
Utirose gives great results on the antimicrobial inhibition on bacteria and yeast in solid medium.

Utirose
gives significant result on the antimicrobial efficicency on E. coli
and C. albicans on solid medium. Comparison with commercial
cranberry extract has also be done.
