Burgundy acquires the Botanical Extracts business of Cognis
Burgundy acquires the Botanical Extracts business of Cognis, Division Nutrition and Health, and its range of botanical derivatives sold by the care chemicals division to the cosmetic industry

BURGUNDY Botanical Extracts is pleased to announce the successful completion of the acquisition of the Botanical extracts business of Cognis, Division Nutrition and Health, and its range of botanical derivatives sold by the care chemicals division to the cosmetic industry. This operation includes both the existing sales, and the plants of Sant Andreau de la Barca and of Palafolls, under the name of Burgundy Iberia - a new daughter company of Burgundy Botanical Extracts. The acquisition of the Botanicals Extracts Business is totally consistent with Burgundy's  growth strategy : its product range fits well with our existing portfolio with a lot of new products, brings us extra facilities in terms of production capacity, and gives us a new entry point into the pharmaceutical industries with DMF products, to the dietary supplements, and to the cosmetic industries that will strengthen our offering and market position to better serve Burgundy and Cognis botanicals customers.

This operation will be accompanied by the split of the activities onto 3 business units in order to bring efficient visibility of our offer to our customers:

  • Pharmaceuticals Division, under the responsibility of M. Ceferino PASCUAL
  • Botany Care (cosmetics Division), under the responsibility of M. PASCUAL until about mid of march when the new BU manager joins Burgundy
  • Food and Health, under the responsibility of M. Gontran GAILLOT.
